After so much preparations, document fussing, planning, waiting, and changing plans................. Our prayers came true! We had a successfull appointment with a verbal approval to adopt Anna!
Today at 3pm (Friday the 16th) we should receive the official refferal that will allow us to start the proceedings of adoption!
Maria the Pschycologist spent about 20 minutes enjoying listening to Kris and I share why we want to adopt again, how we feel about our exsisting three adopted kids, and about our passion to promote orphans of Ukraine. We shared photos on our phones, and spent only about 25 minutes in her office before getting sent on our way!

Our facilitator had been busy fretting about the transfer of guardianship in the last couple of weeks, but they got it all ironed out in the nick of time. We had also received word just 15 minutes before the appointment started that he was stuck across town in a parking lot at the Embassy! Oh yeah, and the taxi dropped us off at the wrong location! Not to worry, we had an army of people on many continents praying for this successful appointment. Once again, God deserves all the credit! Thanks be to God!

Maria helped us at our first SDA appointment...small world! Congrats on a quick and successful appointment. Thats a big hurdle!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and prayers that the rest of the trip is smooth - of course being your 3rd time, you know that it won't be! :) We did 2 adoption trips in the past 2 months!

ReplyDeleteI recognize that office and Maria! It's hard to believe we were sitting around that same table only 7-ish months ago. What a time of complete trust in God to be controlling a situation that we felt so out of control of.
